FUE Hair Transplant in Toronto
What this procedure may address
- Pattern hair loss with stable diagnosis
- Hairline or density concerns
- Selected scars
- Patients with adequate donor density
What patients need to understand
FUE is not scarless. It leaves many small donor scars and can thin the donor region if overharvested. Long-term planning must account for future loss.
Assessment and planning
Assessment includes diagnosis, age, donor density, hair calibre, scalp laxity, family pattern and medical treatment. Graft number should be constrained by donor safety, not sold as the largest possible session.
Recovery
Crusting and redness occur in donor and recipient sites. Transplanted hairs commonly shed before regrowth. Visible growth takes months and density evolves over a year or longer.
Individual postoperative instructions take priority over general timelines published online.
Risks and limitations
The proposed benefits must be weighed against risks that include:
- Bleeding, infection and scarring
- Folliculitis
- Poor graft survival
- Unnatural hairline or direction
- Donor overharvesting
- Shock loss
- Need for future procedures
This list is not exhaustive. The risks relevant to the proposed treatment are discussed during consultation and again before informed consent.
Consultation with Dr. Elahi
A consultation with Dr. Elahi is an assessment of anatomy, goals, alternatives, scars, recovery, risk and whether treatment is appropriate. It does not create an obligation to proceed.
